A run to Baja for sun and sand

December 10, 2016

The weather in Clarkdale, Arizona started to turn cold, and we wanted none of that. We needed to turn in our Temporal Importacion Permit on the van before its expiration date. And our friends were in Baja, so we decided to dash down to hang out. It was a great little respite for a couple … More A run to Baja for sun and sand

A bit of Oregon and some hassles in Idaho!

August 20, 2016

As we passed through Oregon again we made a few stops along the way. Our target was the Huckleberry Jam music festival in Idaho with Michael Franti as headliner. This would be our 6th Franti show! Yep, we are big fans. The real bonus would be that we could attend with our friends from Boise. … More A bit of Oregon and some hassles in Idaho!

Idaho- just passing through for the USA birthday!

July 13, 2016

We drove through the woods to two different campsites. The first one we nicknamed Mosquito Marsh. We did not even take any photos because it was rough to be outside. It was in a beautiful part of the Targhee Forest, but much to close to a mushy creek bed that served as mosquito breeding grounds. … More Idaho- just passing through for the USA birthday!

Engine installation final steps-

February 19, 2016

(I know that a few of you are waiting Installing the shiny new crate motor in the van was an interesting process. The obvious task was the work to be done with removal of the old engine. Visiting with Vanagon owners in AZ

December 23, 2015

While we are parked at home base, we have had the opportunity to host a few different van-visitors!  This yard offers plenty of parking space, a small, well-equipped workshop, a fenced dog-yard and plenty of nearby tourist attractions.

Motor story; Bostig. A post by Mike!

June 14, 2015

Back in 2010 we were in the same position as many Vanagon owners. We had begun to experience issues with the stock rebuild and were looking for something more reliable. We loved our van, but just wanted to be able to get up a hill and travel a decent distance between overheating, coolant tank dances, … More Motor story; Bostig. A post by Mike!
