We stopped through Baton Rouge to check out the USS Kidd, Navy Destroyer. Mike does love his military history! This one is floating in the Mississippi River.
We located an excellent RV spot, just off the highway and near downtown. It is called Baton Rouge Equestrian Center or BREC and is operated by the city. It featured RV spots, clean bathrooms, hot showers, full hook ups and huge grassy fields for parking. The facility also had horse boarding, horse arenas and a huge event center for horse activities. It was right next the Mississippi levee and many miles of biking and walking trails. Very nice for $10 a night. Dogs loved it!
