Working our way across the “Deep South” of the USA!

We have been in 4 states in the past week, and they all have a few things in common:

1. bugs  (gnats, mosquitos, maybugs, spiders, ticks)

2. rain (unexpected, sneak attacks of good, hard rain)

3. thick, lush greenery (lawns, shrubs, roadsides, swamps, bayous, campgrounds)

4. raccoons (waiting until we are all asleep to begin their thievery and annoying the heck out of our director of security-Zeb)

Here is a collection of photos from the past week of traveling through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.

    Hanks for the turtle no matter what kind.
    I want to spend some time in the Panhandle. I took a bus through once and would love to explore.

  4. I think those turtles are something else….not snappers. The snakes are poisonous….the ones in the trees, but I can’t think of the name. Don’t know about the one at the campground! My first geology job was in a swamp in west Florida, just north of Fort Myers, with a lively population of lethal critters!
