We have had a great couple of days in our start of the new life on the road. I am glad we chose to take the time to test systems in Arizona before crossing the border. There are a few things that need to be tweaked, and a few things that screamed for attention! And we have seen some beautiful places.
We decided to follow the OUTDATED book we own that gives info about hot springs. It has always been very risky to follow this resource. We did not find any of the ones we looked for. But we found a few others instead. We spent one night at the Essence of Tranquility http://www.azhotmineralspring.com which offered great tubs, nice camping area, showers, restrooms and a communal kitchen.
Then we headed for Klondyke and Arivaipa to look around. This included seven water crossings, and some beautiful sights! A hawk, a flock of turkeys, an old store and some great formations. The adventure ended with Mike on his back (another nap??) changing out a shredded belt. A pebble got caught in the pulley grooves which tore the belt into little strings. The strings whipped around back there and unplugged the computer connection- which caused the engine to stall! We found it, fixed it and were on the road in 68 minutes! Go Mike the mechanic. More fun to come!
That is hilarious. This is the third one we have put on this Bostig. Perhaps it is time to fork over the money for the shield! I wish we could get Bostig to “sponsor” us with one!
We start most of our adventures by destroying an alternator belt. It’s kind of like a sacrifice to the travel gods 🙂 We’ve learnt to always carry a spare now!
